Saudi rape victim sentenced to a thrashing

I don’t care what language you speak, or what book you hold holy: this is wrong.

Just so we’re clear about this: one of the gang-rapists was sentenced to a less severe beating than his victim. I’m having real trouble finding the words to express how contemptible I find any society (and it’s attendant legal system) that’s so obsessively paranoid about extra-marital sex, that having friends of the opposite sex is a crime only slightly less severe than rape.

    It doesn’t make it any more defensible, but there are moves in the right direction.
