Ed has linked to this write up of an appalling application of state drug laws in Florida. My only question, if him owning the tablets constitutes trafficking, then aren’t the doctors who prescribed them in some way culpable? You’d think that at least a civil suit would be a possibility.
Edit: No, obviously, no-one is culpable, because no reasonable person would agree that a crime had been committed, but if you’re going to convict, why limit to the one man? I’m sure there are lots of other people they could have wrongly imprisoned at the same time.
Can someone please tell me why on Earth things like this are still considered front-page news? So she smoked cannabis at University; so what? I never did, but you know what? That made me pretty weird. Well over half the students I knew smoked the stuff, and a significant number continued into their adult lives, and I’m sure that’s a pretty representative sample, so why is it such a big deal when it turns out that public figures spent their time at University doing pretty much the same sorts of things as every other student in the country?
